FBI-UAP-D040, FD-302, โ€œMultiple Red Lights,โ€ 2026

▮ AI SYNOPSIS · Sonnet 4.6

FBI FD-302 document recording a telephonic interview conducted in 2026 with a U.S. person regarding two UAP incidents in the western United States. The interviewee and a second individual, whose separate account appears in FBI-UAP-D037, observed multiple red lights during a nighttime vehicle patrol in a remote area. The primary sequence involved a single red light moving eastward from a mountain ridgeline, followed by approximately 6โ€“10 additional lights appearing overhead, forming triangular or diamond-shaped clusters of three lights each that moved in tandem before disappearing. A second incident the same night involved ground-level lights observable only through night optical devices, a fast-moving streak of light, and a luminous hue traversing a defilade before fading. The interviewee also noted that one analog watch was found to be 25 minutes ahead of all digital timepieces at the conclusion of the observation period.

The document is notable for the level of observational detail provided, including altitude estimates, movement descriptions, and the use of night optical devices. The witness's characterization of each apparent single light as a three-light cluster when examined carefully is relevant to recurring UAP morphology questions in the broader record. Nearly all identifying information โ€” names, specific location names, file agent details, and precise dates โ€” is redacted. The anomalous watch discrepancy is documented without explanation. Companion documents FBI-UAP-D041 and FBI-UAP-D042 are digital renderings based on witness descriptions.

Redactions present in this record. Black bars protect identities of eyewitnesses, locations of facilities, or non-UAP-related sensitive material.

This document is an FBI FD-302, a form the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) uses to record interviews. This FD-302 records a 2026 telephonic interview with a U.S. person, in which the interviewee describes two incidents potentially involving unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) in the western United States in 2026. A second individual who was present during the incidents at the time also provided an interview, recorded in this collection as โ€œFBI-UAP-D037.โ€ Two FBI digital renderings based upon the observersโ€™ descriptions accompany this document, under the titles FBI-UAP-D041 and FBI-UAP-D042.

FD-302 (Rev. 5-8-10) -1 of 2- FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION OFFICIAL RECORD 84030.01000092580198D0 Date of entry J2026 On 2026, was interviewed telephonically by Federal Bureau of Investigation (EBI) Special Agent (SA) interviewing agent, โ€ข After being advised of the identity of the provided the following information: arrived at on โ€ข 2026 to 2026, support the On left the at approximately 2100 with the intention of driving north on for area reconnaissance. When they arrived at the gate to , it was raining heavily, so they waited for the rain to subside, which it did shortly thereafter. then unlocked the gate and began driving north on At approximately 2200 after they had gone approximately 25 miles, noticed a red light at the crest of the mountain range to their west and pulled over to investigate. Initially, thought the light was something on the mountain, but it began to move to the east. Due to the mountain range being approximately 5000 feet and the cloud cover being at approximately 7000 feet, stated he believed the light was traveling somewhere between 5000 and 7000 feet above ground level (AGL). After approximately 15 minutes, as watched this light, multiple more (approximately 6 to 10) lights appeared directly over their position. These lights, along with the first-observed light, appeared to "sync up" and traveled to the east/southeast. During this time, one of the lights descended rapidly estimated approximately 1000 feet), then disappeared. The other lights continued east/southeast and disappeared as well. described the lights as red in color and stated that a first glance, as well as when observed through Night Optical Devices (NODs), the lights appeared as a single point of light, however upon closer observation, Investigation on /2026 at United States File # Date drafted by This document contains neither recommendations nor conclusions of the FBI. FD-302a (Rev. 5-8-10) Continuation of FD-302 of On / 2026 Page 2 of 2 or while "squinting," the lights appeared to each be three separate lights in a triangular or diamond-shaped pattern. stated that each "cluster" of the three lights moved in tandem and never separated, as if all three lights were attached to the same object. also noted that the cloud cover was heavy at this time, to the point that no stars were visible. At approximately 2350 witnessed two lights on or close to the ground to their east, which were only visible using NODs. One of lights moved west toward their position and the second, which was south of the first, moved north and stopped in the vicinity of the first light. Both lights appeared to stop approximately 200-300 meters from their position. As watched these lights to his east, he saw a rapidly moving streak of light on the periphery of his vision. described it as analogous to how a sparkler or flashlight looks at night if someone moves it quickly, where the "light tail" is visible behind the light source. turned to look at the source, but was only able to see a bright hue of light emitting from the vicinity, as the source was in a defilade. The hue moved north, following the defilade until it faded out or disappeared. The lights to their east also disappeared. then got into their vehicle and attempted to drive east to the vicinity of their observations but were unsuccessful. They then returned to their original position, parked and exited the vehicle. After some time, walked back to the truck to check his phone and give his eyes a break. then asked what time he had and relayed that his watch was 25 minutes fast. was wearing a digital watch, which displayed the same time as their cell phones and the vehicle clock. s watch was the only analog/non-digital clock and was the only clock that was different. relayed that he had known for years and described him as "squared away." Having an inaccurate watch or faulty gear was not something he would let happen. Moreover, had been looking at his watch throughout that day/night and it had been accurate up to that point. stated he did not have any physiological reactions/effects during or after the above-described events.
